On 24-26 February 2017, I attended the Pi Tau Sigma (International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society) Convention as the President of the Carnegie Iota Chapter. The event was hosted by Drexel University. It was also my first time in Philadelphia! I was late to the very first reception event... because... I got stuck in an elevator with four other Mechanical Engineers at a Mechanical Engineering Convention. How ironic is that! We were stuck on the 17th floor for about an hour, before the fire department finally saved us! It was a great icebreaker I guess. We also practiced our elevator pitches - HA! I also tweeted this picture to #PTSConvention2017 and won first prize for the photo competition! We participated in the Design Swarms Workshop, which was run by Autodesk. It was very fun brainstorming ideas in groups to find a solution to solve a real-world problem of drought in California. It was such a great experience getting to meet other Mechanical Engineering students from all over the country! We also had the chance to listen to very inspirational speakers, and even go on lab tours! PS. I keep on typing Convection in stead of Convention. Clearly something is wrong here.
