We all have more immediate problems to solve than global warming.
Yet, each passing day proves to us that perhaps tackling global warming should be our top priority.

Dear Citizens of the World,
Starting tomorrow, governments will begin to monitor your carbon credit. This is an attempt to surface the issue of climate change. It will act as a tangible measure to how our everyday actions affect the planet's well being. Carbon credits work similar to the way monetary credits work today. The following document outlines the procedures for the three levels of carbon crediting: Personal, Corporate, and Governmental.
An entity (person/corporation/government) will be assigned a carbon credit score. Depending on the score, he/she/it will be assigned a monthly carbon quota. This is the amount of equivalent* carbon emission he/she/it is allowed per month. If this quota is exceeded, the credit score will be decremented, and vice versa.
Personal
Carbon crediting is involved in every aspect of an individual's life, such as the following:
An individual must accumulate enough credit score to qualify for certain actions, notably the following: having a child, buying a house, and buying a vehicle.
An individual may receive extra quota by taking action to offset his/her carbon emission, such as planting trees, or other actions determined by his/her government.
Corporate
A corporation will be responsible for tracking and reporting its carbon emissions.
Foods and consumer goods will have to be tagged with a carbon number. The carbon number shall take into account upstream operations such as the transportation of raw material, and downstream operations such as any end-of-life processes. This carbon number is then passed on to the consumer. This way, consumers will demand for goods with a lower carbon number, and corporations will have an incentive to produce such goods.
Governmental
The government will be responsible for moderating the credit scores of individuals and corporations, with the goal of maintaining its own quota below the limit.
It is our duty to live within the limits that our planet has to provide. We thank you for your cooperation.
A document outlining Carbon Crediting in greater detail is available on our website.
Sincerely,
The Carbon Committee
